We employ imported Kanthal A-1 resistive wire heating elements for muffle furnaces operating at 1100°C, silicon carbide rods for muffle furnaces operating at 1400°C, and MoSi2 (molybdenum disilicate) at 1600°C and 1800°C.In addition to using the usual microprocessor based PID temperature controller installed in each muffle furnace, we also utilise a programmable profile temperature controller with 30 steps for the ramp rate and soak time.
