The bluing process involves heating the steel components in a controlled temperature range (typically 300°C–450°C) in an oxidizing atmosphere, followed by quenching in atmosphere or hot water. This produces a stable magnetite layer that resists corrosion and enhances surface hardness. Unlike conventional painting or phosphate coating, bluing does not alter the dimensional tolerances of precision parts. Each alloy steel responds differently to different time-temperature-oxidant combinations, and our furnaces provide the precise control required for consistent, repeatable results.
